Overview:
Join our client, a reputable family-owned bakery, as a Code 10 Bread Truck Driver. We are seeking experienced drivers to safely transport bakery products to various destinations in and around Durban. This is a temporary position based in Briardene, Durban North.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and drive a Code 10 bread truck for delivery operations.
- Transport bakery products to different destinations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to maintain high safety standards on the road.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure proper maintenance of the bread truck.
- Assist with loading and unloading bakery products, ensuring goods’ integrity during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and promptly report any issues or delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and bakery staff.
Requirements:
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
- Matric or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Code 10 driver, preferably with a focus on bread or perishable goods.
- Clean driving record with no history of traffic violations or accidents.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of loading and unloading bakery products.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for positive customer interactions.
- Responsible and reliable with a commitment to meeting delivery schedules.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Reside in close proximity to client premises in Briardene, Durban North.
