Overview:
Torrecid South Africa is seeking a dedicated and reliable Code 14 Assistant Truck Driver with a Professional Driving Permit (PdP) to join our team in Centurion, Gauteng. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of R9,500 per month.
Responsibilities:
- Provide secure and timely driving services for deliveries and collections on behalf of the company.
- Plan driving routes ahead of time to determine the most efficient route.
- Adjust routes as necessary to avoid traffic congestion and road construction.
- Report any road incidents promptly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck.
- Report any vehicle defects and perform preventative maintenance.
- Ensure the load is properly secured before departure.
- Maintain a logbook/trip sheet, documenting rest periods and kilometers driven.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accuracy.
- Obtain signed delivery notes for all deliveries.
Requirements:
- A valid Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience with super-link trucks.
- A valid Code 14 driver’s license with PdP.
- A Dangerous Goods Permit.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic equipment such as GPS.
- Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Centurion, Gauteng before starting work.
