Overview

Glencore Holdings South Africa is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst for its Metals, Oil & Gas Divisions. This role involves providing credit risk advisory, reporting, and macro-economic analysis within the metals division. The ideal candidate will support the global Credit Risk team through diligent monitoring, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, including the assessment and scoring of counterparties using internal models.
  • Produce periodic and ad-hoc macro-economic and sector reports.
  • Develop and disseminate bespoke and cross-functional Credit Risk reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Validate and explain Credit Risk data generated from various systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Assist in the enhancement of existing systems, processes, and reports related to Potential Future Exposure (PFE) and Cost of Credit.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and the credit team.
  • Identify and present issues to relevant global teams in a clear and logical manner.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, risk management, accounting, economics, or business studies.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications are beneficial.

Work Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Credit Risk management.
  • Financial Analysis experience is advantageous.
  • Coding skills in VBA, PowerBI, and Python are a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and database functionality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
