Overview
Curro Langebaan seeks a professional and dedicated Bus Driver to join our esteemed institution. This role involves the transportation of learners and staff, general facility maintenance, and adherence to health and safety protocols. The successful candidate will start on 01 July 2024 and the position will run until 31 December 2024.
Responsibilities
Learner Transportation:
- Operate a school bus on prescribed routes according to schedules.
- Pick up and drop off students at designated stops.
- Transport students and staff for field trips, planning routes and stops as necessary.
- Maintain discipline and order among student passengers per district policies.
General Worker Duties:
- Conduct general maintenance and facility support tasks.
- Address maintenance requests and ensure all facilities are in working order.
- Perform necessary repairs, such as plumbing and general upkeep.
- Notify the facilities manager of required repairs.
- Manage maintenance tools and consumables.
- Support security, access control, and traffic management.
- Perform garden maintenance including mowing grass and tending flower beds.
- Maintain gardening tools and advise the facilities manager of needs.
Health and Safety:
- Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of the bus.
- Report mechanical issues and perform minor services like refueling and checking tires.
- Carry out periodic safety drills and attend safety and training meetings.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle to maintain a safe operating condition.
Record Keeping:
- Complete mileage and passenger count reports.
- Uphold a commitment to the educational values and ethos of Curro Langebaan.
Requirements
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
- Presentable with excellent communication skills.
- Clear criminal record.
