Overview

We are seeking a responsible and courteous Office Driver to join our team at Jhpiego. The successful candidate will provide reliable transportation services for staff and visitors, prioritize safety, and maintain vehicle records. This full-time, non-supervisory role requires diligent operation and upkeep of vehicles and effective communication with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

Driving

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.
  • Treat all passengers respectfully, regardless of gender, age, religion, or nationality.
  • Coordinate schedules, routes, and directions with the program team.
  • Deliver and pick up materials and documents accurately.
  • Inform the supervisor when driving at night or in potentially unsafe areas.
  • Use vehicles strictly for business purposes.
  • Report any mishaps to the supervisor.

Repair and Maintenance

  • Keep vehicles clean and refueled.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance (e.g., replacing bulbs, changing tires).
  • Ensure timely oil changes and other required maintenance.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or damages to the supervisor.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs and records of fuel, oil changes, and maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety and security guidelines.
  • Notify the supervisor of any safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Assist the program team with documentation as needed.

Safety & Security

  • Ensure all passengers wear safety belts.
  • Do not permit unauthorized individuals to travel in Jhpiego vehicles.
  • Comply with all safety laws and regulations.

Team Work

  • Contribute to team objectives, including supporting program demand generation and community health awareness campaigns.
  • Assist with the mobilization of clients for medical services.
  • Provide informed consent forms to minors before events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and other employees.

Requirements

  • Senior High School Certificate.
  • Valid Code 14 driver’s license for heavy volume vehicles with an accident-free record.
  • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience; experience with international organizations or corporations is advantageous.
  • Broad knowledge of driving and vehicle maintenance.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and positive attitude with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle various assignments under deadlines.
  • Cooperative, hardworking, flexible, and dependable.
  • Effective communication skills, instilling trust and confidence.
  • Pleasant and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High integrity and confidentiality.
