Ministry of Lands and Agriculture – Department of Crop Production invites applications from qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Temporary Frontline Extension Officer, based in Kole, Charleshill District.
Position Details
Job Title: Temporary Frontline Extension Officer
Tenure: Three (3) months, with the possibility of extension
Salary: Degree C3 – P127,032.00 to P150,852.00 per annum
Leave: 25 working days per annum
Age Requirement: 18 to 45 years
Main Purpose of the Job
Provide technical expertise in implementing crop production projects and programmes, including Temo Letlotlo, to enhance agricultural productivity in the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of crop projects and agronomic activities through technical and supervisory support.
- Assist in interpreting and implementing crop production programmes, including Temo Letlotlo.
- Ensure proper registration and approval of farmers’ fields via the Crop Management System (CMS).
- Assess farmers’ fields to confirm areas ploughed/planted and production progress.
- Report on Temo Letlotlo activities in the district.
- Organize crop trial demonstrations on farmers’ fields in collaboration with the District Crop Production Officer.
- Coordinate the supply of inputs and monitor the implementation of planned activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor to meet service demands.
Qualifications
- Degree in General Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Crop Science, or related fields from a recognized institution.
