Key Responsibilities

  1. Kitchen Hygiene and Cleanliness
    • Supervise kitchen cleaning, ensuring all areas are equipped with appropriate cleaning tools and products.
  2. Breakfast Preparation
    • Assist with early morning breakfast setup while adhering to food safety standards.
  3. Stock Management
    • Manage refrigerator stock, ensuring correct storage per cold chain protocols.
    • Conduct regular temperature checks and record findings, addressing any issues promptly.
  4. Ingredient Issuance
    • Issue wet and dry ingredients required for meal preparation.
    • Communicate stock shortages to the Cooks Team Leader and assist in sourcing items.
  5. Menu Coordination
    • Relay menu updates to the Cooks Team Leader to ensure accurate preparations.
  6. Audits and Compliance
    • Conduct ad-hoc audits and assist in preparing for bi-annual audits.
    • Maintain required documentation and ensure processes meet company standards.
  7. Operational Tasks
    • Complete daily kitchen checklists to ensure procedures are followed.
    • Report maintenance and pest control issues to external suppliers.
    • Notify management of urgent issues and assist in resolving them promptly.
  8. Continuous Improvement
    • Regularly review and optimize operational processes to uphold high standards.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Matric (Grade 12) qualification is essential.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year in a similar role within the hospitality, corporate kitchen, or canteen environment.

Technical Skills:

-Knowledge of audit processes and cold chain disciplines.

-Proficiency in English for detailed reporting.

-Computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
