Overview
An established Citizen-Owned Construction Company is seeking two experienced Land Surveyors to manage a government-funded project across Botswana. The successful candidates will play a critical role in overseeing surveys, establishing property boundaries, and ensuring the accurate recording of survey data.
Key Responsibilities
-Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions to certify and assume liability for performed surveys.
-Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
-Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal property boundaries based on deeds and titles.
-Record survey results, including land shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions.
-Calculate terrain characteristics such as heights, depths, relative positions, and property lines.
-Prepare or oversee the preparation of survey-related data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents.
-Draft property boundary descriptions for use in legal documents such as deeds and leases.
Skills and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or a related field (an associate degree with relevant work experience may be considered).
-Knowledge or specialization in mapping science, cartography, or photo surveying is an advantage.
-Strong attention to detail with excellent knowledge of building codes.
-At least five (5) years of professional surveying experience.
-A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
