Position Overview
The Network Security Specialist will be responsible for analyzing security risks, defining access privileges, implementing control structures, and managing system resources. This role also includes conducting vulnerability testing, developing response procedures, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery protocols to protect BPC’s network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop security testing standards and procedures in alignment with industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with audit control systems and identify shortcomings in current security processes.
- Manage internal client and customer relationships using corporate security protocols.
- Deliver security outcomes by implementing health, safety, and environmental protection measures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system vulnerabilities, perform emergency repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance inspections.
- Assist in setting up and testing new security processes and installing complex security systems.
- Recommend improvements to existing security systems and contribute to change management programs.
- Conduct primary research and data analysis to identify trends and assess emerging security threats.
- Maintain and manage data access controls within BPC’s information systems.
- Provide technical recommendations and guidance to management on security risk mitigation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education:
- A recognized University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
- Industry-related certification such as CCNP will be an added advantage.
- Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years post-qualification experience in an ICT environment.
- At least three (3) years of experience in IT Network Security Analysis.
