Job Overview
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Code 10 Driver to join our logistics team in Silverton. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with road safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery
- Operate a Code 10 vehicle to transport FMCG products to distribution centers, retailers, and other locations.
- Ensure on-time deliveries while maintaining the integrity and quality of goods.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimize fuel consumption and avoid delays.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues, damage, or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately.
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately complete and manage delivery paperwork, invoices, and proof of delivery notes.
- Adhere to road safety laws and company policies, ensuring that cargo is properly secured before transit.
Customer Service
- Interact professionally with customers, ensuring excellent service and timely communication regarding deliveries.
- Address any customer concerns or special requests while ensuring high-quality service.
Loading & Unloading
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods when necessary, ensuring that products are handled carefully to prevent damage.
Incident & Delay Reporting
- Immediately report any delays, accidents, or route issues that may affect delivery schedules.
- Work closely with the logistics and warehouse team to ensure smooth operational flow.
Requirements & Skills
- Valid Code 10 (EC1) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience in the FMCG or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and delivery protocols.
- Physically fit to handle heavy goods when required.
- Safety-conscious with a strong understanding of transport safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification is required.
