Job Overview
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a responsible and experienced Code 10 Driver to join our logistics team in the Tembisa/Olifantsfontein area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of FMCG goods, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to company policies, road safety standards, and delivery protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation
- Operate a Code 10 truck to transport FMCG goods to distribution centers, retail stores, and customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, maintaining the quality of goods during transit.
- Follow assigned routes but adapt to optimize efficiency and fuel consumption when needed.
Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Promptly report any mechanical issues or damage to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all road safety laws and company regulations to ensure safe driving.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately complete and manage delivery documentation such as invoices, delivery notes, and proof of delivery records.
- Ensure all paperwork is properly handled and submitted to the logistics team as required.
Customer Service & Teamwork
- Interact professionally with customers, addressing any inquiries regarding deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a positive company image.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth operational efficiency.
Loading & Unloading
- Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring careful handling and secure storage.
- Verify accuracy of loaded stock before departure to avoid delivery errors.
Incident & Delay Management
- Report any delays, accidents, or challenges that may affect delivery schedules immediately.
- Ensure quick resolution of logistical issues in collaboration with the logistics team.
Requirements & Skills
- Valid Code 10 (EC1) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience in the FMCG or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic regulations, and delivery procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy goods when required.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations with a safety-conscious mindset.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor and good communication skills when interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification is required.
