Overview:
BME, a division of Omnia, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Front End Loader Operator for stemming operations at our site in Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the stemming loader efficiently and safely in accordance with the company’s operating instructions. This temporary position requires punctuality, attention to safety standards, and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
-Safely operate the stemming loader for stemming operations as per the company’s operating instructions.
-Perform stemming operations on time, ensuring accurate and efficient loading.
-Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any faults or defects.
-Maintain housekeeping of the stemming loader to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
-Adhere to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
-Comply with regulatory and statutory requirements.
-Follow the customer’s traffic management system/plan on-site.
-Assist the maintenance/workshop team during stemming loader breakdowns and scheduled services.
-Conduct on-bench condition assessments prior to stemming operations.
-Perform basic front-line maintenance, including greasing and weekly maintenance tasks.
-Maintain accurate and timely records, including operational reports.
Requirements and Skills:
Qualifications:
-Grade 12 Certificate.
-Stemming Loader Operator License.
-Code 10 Driver’s License with Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP) will be an added advantage.
-Dover Test certification.
-Advanced driving course is desirable.
Experience:
-Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a Stemming Loader.
-Experience in an Open Pit mining environment is an advantage.
-Previous experience as a Blasting Assistant or General Assistant in a mining environment is beneficial.

-Strong customer focus with the ability to understand and meet customer needs.
-Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational issues.
-Good numerical skills for accurate record-keeping and operational calculations.
-High attention to detail and safety awareness.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and reporting.
-Report-writing abilities for operational documentation and compliance reporting.
