Overview
Freightmore Johannesburg Pty Ltd is seeking a professional and experienced Driver (Code 10) to join our dynamic team in Chloorkop, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and professionalism. This role is integral to ensuring smooth operational functions and maintaining high standards of service within our organization.
Responsibilities
–Safe Vehicle Operations: Direct drivers during reversing operations to ensure safety at all times.
–Communication: Liaise with zone controllers via cell phone to coordinate activities effectively.
–Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle both internally and externally.
–Equipment Management: Ensure that all tools and equipment are kept clean, properly stored, and in good condition.
–Reporting: Report any losses, damages, or discrepancies related to cargo, equipment, and paperwork.
–Customer Service: Greet and interact with clients in a polite and professional manner.
Requirements and Skills
- Educational Background: Must have a Matric certificate.
- Communication: Well spoken, with proficiency in at least one official language; knowledge of an additional official language is advantageous.
- Licensing:
- A valid driver’s license (Code 10 and PDP) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- No criminal record is required.
- Driving Experience: At least 5 years of driving experience; experience with Volvo and Scania vehicles is an advantage.
- Professional Appearance: Neat and well-groomed, with PPE maintained in a clean and wearable condition at all times.
- Additional Skills and Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Computer skills are advantageous.
- Must own a working cell phone.
- Possession of own transport is advantageous, as transport is provided only when legislatively required and may in some instances incur charges.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment polygraph test.
- Must provide at least 2 contactable references.
