Overview

SUN JV is inviting qualified candidates to apply for 18 positions as Hand Drill Operators for the Construction of Polihali Dam and Appurtenant Works, a key component of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project – Phase II. This major infrastructure project involves constructing a concrete-faced rockfill dam, a saddle dam, and a gravity tunnel linking Polihali Reservoir to the Katse Reservoir. We are seeking experienced professionals committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards on a large-scale construction site.


Responsibilities

Drill Operation: Efficiently operate hand drills in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.

Equipment Setup: Assist in the preparation and setup of drilling equipment before operations.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure work environment.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with site teams to meet project milestones and ensure seamless operations.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and promptly report any equipment malfunctions or issues.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of drilling operations and work progress.


Requirements and Skills

Qualification: Possession of a valid Competency Certificate.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Hand Drill Operator; experience on large construction projects is an added advantage.

Documentation: Ability to provide supporting documents that demonstrate your skills and experience, including a reference letter from a previous employer.

Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols on construction sites.

Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic, challenging environment.
