Overview:
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver Code 10 to join our logistics team in the Tembisa and Olifantsfontein area. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting FMCG products to various locations, ensuring timely and secure deliveries in accordance with road safety standards and company policies. This role requires a safety-conscious individual with strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
Responsibilities:
–Delivery of Goods: Safely transport FMCG products to distribution centers, retail stores, or customers, ensuring on-time and excellent condition delivery.
–Route Planning: Follow pre-determined routes and schedules while optimizing route efficiency to meet delivery timelines.
–Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues or damages promptly.
–Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete all necessary documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes, invoices, and proof of deliveries.
–Compliance & Safety: Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies while driving. Ensure the truck and goods are properly secured before transit.
–Customer Interaction: Maintain excellent customer service by interacting professionally with customers during deliveries.
–Loading & Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading goods as necessary, ensuring proper handling and storage of products.
–Reporting Delays: Report any delays, accidents, or issues that may affect delivery schedules to the supervisor or manager.
–Team Collaboration: Work closely with the logistics and warehouse team to ensure smooth operational flow.
Requirements and Skills:
–Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
–Driving License: Code 10 (EC1) or equivalent, with a clean driving record.
–Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience in the FMCG or a similar industry.
–Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and delivery protocols.
–Physical Capability: Ability to load/unload goods and handle heavy products when necessary.
–Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safety regulations and a strong safety mindset.
–Professionalism: Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and team members.
–Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery of products.
–Teamwork and Independence: Capability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
