Overview:
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and diligent Industrial Cleaner to join our team in Nigel. This full-time role involves maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of industrial equipment and workspaces to ensure efficient and safe operations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in an industrial environment and committed to following safety and cleaning protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Industrial Equipment Cleaning:
- Clean and sanitize a variety of industrial equipment and machinery following company safety standards and protocols.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and techniques for different types of equipment, including conveyors, mixing machines, and presses.
- Perform regular deep cleaning of machinery to remove dust, grime, and build-up that could affect performance.
- Routine Maintenance:
- Follow scheduled cleaning routines for machines and equipment, ensuring cleanliness before and after shifts.
- Report any defects, damage, or potential issues with machinery that may require maintenance or repairs.
- Workplace Safety:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with industrial equipment.
- Handle chemicals and cleaning agents safely and responsibly, following health and safety protocols.
- General Housekeeping:
- Keep work areas clean and organized, including floors, walls, and storage areas.
- Dispose of waste, hazardous materials, and other debris safely, complying with environmental regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain cleaning logs and reports to track equipment cleanliness and report any anomalies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding the cleaning needs of specific equipment.
Requirements and Skills:
- Education: Matric certificate.
- Experience: Previous experience in industrial cleaning is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of cleaning agents, tools, and techniques suitable for industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and PPE.
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and working in challenging environments.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and supervisors.
- Reliability: Punctuality and a strong work ethic.
