Overview

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is seeking a Driver/Messenger to provide efficient and reliable transportation and courier services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection and delivery of mail and parcels, as well as safe and professional transport of SACAA guests. This role requires a responsible and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage driving and messenger duties while ensuring compliance with road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Messenger Services

-Collect and deliver parcels and documents within SACAA and to external locations as required.

-Sort incoming parcels at SACAA reception and distribute them to the relevant departments.

-Handle outgoing mail, including franked mail for posting, and collect incoming mail from the post office.

-Maintain accurate records of all outgoing and incoming mail and parcels.

Driving Services

-Provide timely collection and drop-off services for SACAA guests.

-Ensure a safe and professional driving service, adhering to traffic laws and avoiding penalties.

-Use the SACAA vehicle strictly for official duties, including deliveries and transportation.

-Take full responsibility for vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and scheduling regular services.

-Monitor fuel levels and record daily vehicle logbook entries, including petrol consumption.

General Duties

-Assist in the collection of staff consumables when required.

-Support administrative tasks related to courier and transportation duties.

Requirements & Skills

Education

Minimum:

-Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Valid Code 8 Driver’s License with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

Ideal:

-Post-Matric Qualification.

-Advanced Driving Course.

Experience

-At least 3 years of experience in a messenger/driver role.

-Strong understanding of road safety regulations and logistics management.

-Ability to manage multiple deliveries and transport schedules efficiently.
