Remuneration:
- Institution Phase: R4500 per month (stipend)
- Probation Phase (Post Training): R238,629 per annum (salary notch)
Overview:
The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites applications from the youth of the Northern Cape for the 2025/2026 Police Trainee Programme. This 21-month Basic Police Development Learning Programme will equip successful applicants with the skills and discipline to serve and protect communities across South Africa.
Upon completion, trainees may be permanently appointed as Constables, contributing to public safety and crime prevention efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
-South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
-Grade 12 / Matric certificate
-Medically, physically, and psychologically fit (assessments required)
-No criminal record or pending cases
-No visible tattoos while in uniform
-Not previously found unfit to possess a firearm
-Willing to serve anywhere in South Africa
-Must not have participated in a previous SAPS trainee programme

Preferred Candidates:
- Hold a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license
- Have an NQF 6+ tertiary qualification in:
- Law
- Policing
- Forensic Investigation
- Criminology
