Overview
Premium Resources Botswana is seeking a Project Geologist to support exploration and drilling activities under the supervision of the Senior Geologist & Exploration Manager. This role is essential in planning, executing, and supervising geological programs in designated project areas, ensuring technical excellence and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
-Manage contractors and verify timesheets.
-Execute approved drilling programs and supervise delegated tasks.
-Log drill core and mentor junior geologists and technicians.
-Maintain updated cross-sections and quick logs.
-Ensure adherence to SOPs by core technicians and samplers.
-Coordinate logistics for drill pads, trails, rig moves, and hole planning.
-Resolve drilling or logistical challenges with drillers and team.
-Participate in daily drilling result reviews and strategy planning with the exploration team.
-Supervise field crews during geological fieldwork.
-Ensure proper sample collection and record new geological observations.
-Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
-Integrate multi-source data for comprehensive geological analysis.
Requirements and Skills
-Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
-Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience
-Experience in core logging (geological and structural) is advantageous
-Knowledge of Magmatic Cu-Ni Sulphide Deposits preferred
-Familiarity with deep surface and underground diamond drill programs
-Proficiency in geological software: Datamine (DHLogger), ArcGIS, and MS Office Suite
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
