Overview
AECI Botswana (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Officer to provide expert blasting support and ensure safe, efficient explosives use across mining operations. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and technical teams to implement best blasting practices and maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide technical blasting support to customers
-Ensure safe handling and application of explosives
-Generate post-blast reports and technical documentation
-Assist in interpreting blast data and optimizing blast tools
-Conduct product conversions and recommend improved blasting practices
-Liaise on technical issues with mining clients
-Conduct technical training and refreshers for customers
-Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions
-Validate stock records and manage product quality
-Support World Class system implementation
-Enforce compliance with explosive handling standards and audits
Requirements
-Bachelorβs Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
-Minimum 3 yearsβ underground explosives handling experience
-Valid Class B Driverβs Licence
-Underground Pit Blasting License
-Strong computer and report writing skills
-Fluent in Setswana and English
-Knowledge of AECI products is an added advantage
-Must be a Botswana Citizen
