Overview
The Ministry of Health invites applications from suitably qualified citizens of Botswana for the position of Driver under the Global Fund Project, tenable at the Ministry Headquarters in Gaborone. The role involves safe and efficient operation of government vehicles for the transport of authorised passengers and goods in support of project operations.
Key Responsibilities
-Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness before use.
-Report faults or issues to the Transport Officer and facilitate vehicle repairs.
-Ensure all required vehicle tools (spanner, jack, spare wheel, triangle, etc.) are in place and safely stored.
-Maintain accurate logbooks and record daily trips and fuel consumption.
-Perform routine maintenance (tyre fitment, cleaning, checking pressure levels).
-Drive safely, adhering to all road safety regulations and transport policies.
-Undertake any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
–Minimum qualification: Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLE).
–Licences: Valid Class βBβ, βCβ, and βPRDPβ (for trucks and buses).
–Experience: Minimum of 2 years proven driving experience as Driver I at B3 salary scale or equivalent.
