Job Overview
AECI Botswana (Pty) Ltd, a leading explosives and specialty chemicals company serving the mining, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Operations Assistant at Orapa Debswana Mine.
Key Responsibilities
-Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and safety regulations
-Perform housekeeping duties for Mobile Manufacturing Units (MMUs) and plant areas
-Adhere strictly to all company safety rules and procedures
-Handle MMU hoses during charging operations
-Conduct on-bench explosives quality checks
-Act as a spotter for MMU operations (on and off the bench)
-Assist the MMU Operator with all operational activities
-Maintain cleanliness in and around assigned work areas
-Load and offload explosives at magazines
-Support maintenance teams during MMU breakdowns, calibrations, and servicing
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
–Cambridge Oβ Level / Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) or equivalent
-Minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in Prime, Load, Tie and Shoot (PLTS) in an open pit environment
-Valid Class B Driverβs Licence
–Class C Driverβs Licence will be an added advantage
-Valid Open Pit Blasting Licence
-Must be a Botswana citizen
-Fluent in Setswana and English
-Knowledge and experience with AECI products will be an added advantage
-Experience in open pit mining is essential
