Overview
Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine (Pty) Ltd, a leading player in the mining and metals industry, is seeking a skilled and reliable Driver to join our Finance Division. Situated in the Limpopo Province, our mine is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore, located approximately 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of people and goods while ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
Responsibilities
-Safely transport goods and personnel as required, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
-Conduct pre-use inspections of vehicles to verify they are in safe working condition, checking fluid levels, brakes, electrical components, and general vehicle safety. Report any defects immediately to the supervisor.
-Maintain valid vehicle licenses and ensure that both the driver’s license and Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) are up-to-date and in possession at all times.
-Operate vehicles within the specified mechanical limits to maximize their operational lifespan, adhering to all prescribed safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Ensure that vehicles are cleaned and maintained according to company procedures.
- Collect, load, secure, and off-load goods as per product specifications and authorized requests, ensuring that all relevant documentation is correctly signed off by both the sender and receiver.
- Safely transport passengers, ensuring compliance with road safety rules and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
- Valid Code 10 (C1) Driver’s Licence.
- Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of practical driving/delivery experience.
- Forklift driving experience of 3 months is advantageous but not mandatory.
