Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Driver Messengers for the South African government. In this role, you will be responsible for providing reliable and secure transportation services to government officials, staff, and guests. Your duties will include driving, performing messenger tasks, and ensuring the overall safety and comfort of passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
-Transport government officials, staff, and guests to their destinations safely and punctually, adhering to all traffic regulations and safety standards.
-Maintain the government vehicle’s cleanliness, appearance, and functionality by ensuring regular inspections, servicing, and necessary repairs.
-Follow designated routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes and ensure timely arrivals.
-Assist with loading and unloading luggage, packages, and other items as required.
- Interact with passengers in a courteous and professional manner to ensure a positive experience.
- Adhere to security protocols, including ensuring the proper use of seat belts and compliance with government security regulations.
- Perform messenger duties, such as collecting and delivering official documents, packages, and other items promptly.
- Manage administrative tasks related to driving and messenger duties, including accurate record-keeping of mileage, fuel usage, vehicle maintenance, and delivery logs.
- Monitor vehicle service schedules and report any mechanical issues or concerns immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Comply with all government regulations, policies, and procedures regarding transportation, safety, and document handling.
- Handle confidential documents and information with integrity and discretion.
