Overview
RCL Foods is seeking a qualified and diligent Operator to join our Milling Division in Pretoria West. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various packaging machines, such as palletisers, octopus/wrappers, fawema, and carousel packing, and will serve as a line lead for the packing operations, including sewing, palletising, and wrapping, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The role also involves monitoring and replenishing sewing twine in the sewing machine. This position reports directly to the Team Leader.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 and a minimum of N4 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (unless trade tested).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Trade certification in one of the following: Millwright, Fitter, Fitter and Turner, or Electrician.
- Completion of a packaging learnership program is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
-Operate and manage palletisers, octopus/wrappers, fawema, and carousel packing machines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
-Lead the packing line operations, including sewing, palletising, and wrapping.
-Monitor and replenish sewing twine in the sewing machine to ensure uninterrupted production.
-Oversee the operation of the Fawema packing machine and manage the packing line for palletising and wrapping.
-Monitor various types of palletisers and wrapping machines on the production line, ensuring all actions are performed quickly and safely.
- Report any production downtime to the supervisor or manager promptly.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and administrative tasks at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Ensure yield and throughput are maintained according to key performance indicators.
