Overview

RCL Foods is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Despatch Clerk to join our team in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating despatch activities to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods. This role requires a proactive individual who can oversee daily operations, maintain records, and ensure compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

-Ensure all trucks are dispatched promptly in the morning.

-Arrange for replacement staff in the despatch department as needed.

-Ensure that all despatch staff adhere to the uniform policy.

-Organize internal distribution labor when required.

-Complete the daily despatch reconciliation document.

  • Maintain accurate records of all goods received and dispatched.
  • Promote excellent customer service within the despatch department.
  • Reconcile and oversee the daily recons conducted by the despatch foreman.
  • Verify that all data entries are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Confirm daily production transfers and returns to the despatch area.
  • Balance daily sales records from the despatch recons with van sheets for each route.
  • Count and record all returns to stock from drivers on the return slips.
  • Monitor stock variances and report discrepancies to management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • A National Diploma in a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Proficiency in computer applications, especially Syspro.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of audit and compliance procedures.
  • Understanding of recent laws and regulations related to despatch.
  • Skills in coaching, report writing, presentation, facilitation, and negotiation.
