Overview:
Tharisa Minerals is seeking a dedicated ADT (Articulated Dump Truck) Operator to assist in the efficient transportation of blasted reef and materials within our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating ADT machinery, ensuring materials are transported to designated areas for processing, and contributing to the smooth functioning of Load and Haul (L&H) and Bench Prep functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Health and Safety:
-Conduct risk and safety inspections, report any hazards, and complete the necessary safety checklists.
-Perform pre-start safety checks on the ADT and report any concerns to the control room and supervisor.
-Continuously assess and report risks throughout daily operations.
-Adhere to health and safety protocols, promoting a culture of zero harm and compliance with company policies.
Equipment Operations:
- Inspect the ADT before each shift to ensure safety standards are met.
- Safely load and transport materials, ensuring proper weight distribution to prevent spillage.
- Transport exposed reef and other materials from the mining pit to designated locations, such as crushers or dumps.
- Assist in the construction and maintenance of roads within the mine by transporting and laying materials as needed.
- Manoeuvre the ADT safely in various challenging terrains, including confined and elevated spaces.
- Collaborate with supervisors to meet daily and weekly operational targets and report any delays.
- Perform end-of-shift inspections, clean the ADT cabin, and schedule any necessary maintenance.
Daily Planning:
- Work according to daily and weekly operational plans, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for material movements outside of assigned areas.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (NQF4)
- Code 10 Driver’s License
- ADT Certificate
- Any other relevant certifications
- Must pass both medical and Dover test
- Experience:
- 0-1 year of experience in a similar role within the mining or heavy industry environment
Inherent Requirements:
- Must be medically fit for the role.
