Overview:

The Westin Cape Town is seeking a Guest Arrival Expert (Porter) to join our Rooms & Guest Services Operations team. Reporting to the Concierge Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming experience to all guests, assisting with luggage handling, valet parking, and maintaining the highest standards of service throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

-Provide a warm, friendly greeting to each guest, using their name when possible.

-Assist guests with luggage, ensuring timely delivery to their rooms.

-Escort guests to the front desk and introduce them to reception staff.

-Safely park guest vehicles upon request and adhere to all valet procedures, including performing vehicle checks and maintaining valet safety standards.

-Maintain cleanliness and order in the driveway and lobby areas.

-Answer telephone calls within three rings, using professional etiquette.

-Support the department as needed and report whereabouts to the supervisor during shifts.

-Uphold the highest service standards throughout the hotel and provide personalized attention to all guests.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service or hospitality environment.
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Hospitality qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Physically capable of performing challenging tasks.
  • Well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under pressure.
  • Availability to work rostered shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per operational requirements.
