Position: General Assistant
Job Description:
Cashbuild is seeking individuals to provide exceptional customer service in-store. Responsibilities include stock merchandising, maintaining shelf pricing, and housekeeping in your designated area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Offer advice and assistance to customers regarding products and queries.
- Address and resolve customer complaints.
- Merchandising Standards:
- Ensure bulk stock is displayed safely and in accordance with store layout.
- Maintain proper merchandising and planograms in your area.
- Housekeeping:
- Keep your area free of obstacles, ensuring merchandise is stocked promptly.
- Maintain clear aisles for customer safety and convenience.
- Ensure shelf prices are correctly labeled and complete housekeeping checklists when on duty.
- Safety (OHSA) Compliance:
- Adhere to safety regulations by using safety gear and ensuring customer and staff safety.
- Report any safety issues or discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Stock Loss Management:
- Report damaged stock to the Store Manager.
- Results-Driven:
- Meet targets, maintain high standards, and ensure accuracy in your work.
- Follow through on commitments and deliver best-practice quality.
- Problem-Solving:
- Identify and resolve problems using available information in your department.
- Escalate issues when necessary.
- Decision-Making:
- Make decisions within company policies and timelines.
- Implement decisions in line with agreed processes.
- Planning:
- Plan work within the framework of department policies and procedures.
- Handling Pressure:
- Maintain composure and consistency under pressure, managing workload effectively.
- Collaboration:
- Show courtesy and a willingness to help when interacting with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Handle conflict situations professionally.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with others, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism.
- Share relevant information with appropriate stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with one year of relevant work experience, or Grade 12 without experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the local language.
- Valid South African ID or work permit.
- Basic math skills for accurate calculations.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
