Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods from one destination to another.
- Adhere to designated times, procedures, regulations, and optimal use of resources.
- Safely handle and operate the delivery vehicle.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle, promptly reporting faults or mechanical issues.
- Complete vehicle inspection sheets and refuel vehicles as needed.
- Review truck lists, follow designated routes, and perform pre-departure checks on the truck and load.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while driving and adhere to the Road Traffic Act.
- Follow company policies and regulations, including those outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Load vehicles correctly, verify documentation against the loads, and deliver the correct quantities.
- Obtain proof of delivery signatures for all delivered items.
- Handle loading and off-loading of products, including pallets.
- Manage the return of products, empty containers (lugs), and undelivered invoices.
- Adhere to 5S standards for cleanliness, safety, and organization in the workplace.
- Report to work with all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate daily activities on the provided system.
- Accurately complete all required documents.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Driver within the industry.
- Valid code 14 driver’s license.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is required.
- South African Identity Document (RSA ID) is required.
- Completed Matric (High School Diploma).
- Comfortable working day or night shifts.
- Flexible, punctual, and reliable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
