Job Description:
Motus Renault Pinetown has an exciting opportunity for an APPRENTICE (AUTOMOTIVE MOTOR MECHANIC/ PETROL). This is a fantastic chance for an individual eager to train and qualify as a Motor Mechanic, aspiring to build a career as a skilled Technician in the motor industry. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship program, assisting in vehicle repairs under the supervision of a qualified Technician, fulfilling the MerSETA requirements, mastering level tests, and qualifying within a maximum of 4 years.

Position Overview:
To participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship program; assisting with the repair of vehicles under the supervision of a qualified Technician; fulfilling the MerSETA requirements of the trade, mastering level tests, and qualifying within a maximum of 4 years.

Specific Role Responsibilities:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend scheduled technical/ level training courses.
  • Assist with the repair of vehicles under the supervision of a Technician.
  • Prepare thoroughly for level tests to qualify within the maximum of 4 years.
  • Assist with housekeeping; keeping tools, equipment, and work area clean.
  • Follow workplace safety and conduct rules and protocols.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties required from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 with Pure Maths and Physical Science (minimum pass mark of 50% per subject is an advantage).
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Mechanical insight and technical aptitude. Skills and experience in this area will be an advantage.
