Overview
FNB Insurance Brokers is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our finance team in Gaborone. The successful candidate will apply accounting principles to monitor financial data, prepare accurate financial statements, and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This role requires a high level of financial expertise and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for business units.
-Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
-Ensure compliance with legislative, governance, and audit requirements.
-Work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance.
-Analyze financial information, identify variances, and provide solutions.
-Provide management reports highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
-Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts.
-Ensure accurate updating of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system.
-Maintain and update fixed asset information in Oracle, Essbase, and HFM.
-Conduct risk assessments and implement effective financial controls.
Qualifications & Experience
–Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
–Part-qualified BICA or ACCA.
–BICA membership is mandatory.
–At least five (5) years of experience in a finance or accounting environment.
