Overview:

ANCA Foods, a leading poultry processing company, is seeking a professional and experienced Code 10 Refrigerated Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of goods, ensuring that all deliveries are completed in accordance with company procedures and standards, while maintaining the cold chain.

Responsibilities:

Vehicle operation: Safely operate a Code 10 refrigerated truck, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies.

Daily inspections: Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any issues to the supervisor.

Cold chain management: Ensure the truck’s refrigeration system maintains a temperature between 0°C and 5°C to preserve product quality.

Delivery schedule: Deliver products according to the daily schedule, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.

Stock control: Follow correct receiving and delivery procedures, monitoring the weighing process to avoid discrepancies.

Communication: Act as a liaison between management and customers, reporting any issues regarding product quality or delays.

Documentation: Maintain daily records of deliveries and report back to dispatch for debriefing at the end of each shift.

Vehicle cleanliness: Keep the truck clean, both inside and outside, to ensure hygiene standards are met.

Breathalyzer compliance: Undergo a breathalyzer test before starting each route, in line with company policy.

Customer service: Ensure professional conduct and appearance in line with company policies while interacting with customers.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 certificate.
  • License: Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience driving Code 10 trucks.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the industry.
    • 1 year of experience in stock control procedures.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of safe driving practices and cold chain management.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
    • Reliable and trustworthy, with attention to detail in deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
    • Physically fit to handle loading and unloading tasks when required.
