Overview:

The Ministry of Minerals and Energy (MME) is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated citizens of Botswana for the position of Assistant under the Department of Corporate Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the maintenance and management of ministry buildings to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Scale: D2 (P337,008 – P371,628 per annum)
  • Leave Entitlement: 30 working days per annum
  • Medical Aid: Optional contributory scheme (Government pays 50%, employee pays 50%)
  • Pension Scheme: Contributory (Government pays 15%, employee pays 5%)

Key Responsibilities:

-Implement facility management regulations, procedures, and requirements.

-Secure office accommodation and design office space for optimal utilization.

-Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all ministry buildings.

-Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

-Collaborate with contract management teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance projects.

-Supervise contractors for maintenance and improvements of buildings.

-Conduct periodic inspections of buildings and recommend necessary repairs.

-Prepare reports on the operational effectiveness of facilities.

-Perform any other related duties as required by the ministry.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Degree in Estate/Property Management, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.

Professional Registration: Must be registered with a relevant regulatory body.

Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in estate/property/facility management, with at least 2 years served at the D3 salary scale or equivalent in the private or parastatal sector.

Additional Advantage: Knowledge of government procurement processes.
