Overview:
We are seeking two dedicated individuals to join our team as Assistant Officer Security at Medupi Power Station. As part of the Risk Management department, you will play a crucial role in supervising and coordinating security operations to safeguard our employees, assets, information, and other interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and supervise operational resources for your section/shift.
  • Supervise the activities of security service providers (contractors).
  • Conduct operational security performance monitoring and assessment.
  • Perform occupational health and safety inspections.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Security Management/Policing/Security Risk Management at NQF level 6 with 240 credits.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant security-related experience.

Professional Registration:

  • Private Security Industry Regulation Authority (PSIRA) Grade B.

Skills and Competencies:

Behavioral:

  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and professionalism.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with the capability to interact at a senior level.

Leadership:

  • Proficient in coaching, mentoring, and team development.
  • Experience in training and a commitment to employee relationship building.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of relevant security legislation and training requirements.
  • Familiarity with security policies, procedures, standards, and practices.

Skills:

  • Strong administration and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in SASSETA skills program 1 to 4 and National Key Point unit standards.
  • Competence in firearm handling unit standards for business purposes.
