Job Overview
Bayport Financial Services is seeking a highly motivated Creditor Portfolio Analyst to join our team in Gaborone. This role will support the Senior Credit Portfolio Analyst in conducting in-depth analysis and reporting on credit portfolio trends. The incumbent will play a critical part in assisting with forecasting models, budgeting, and providing key business intelligence to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities:
-Conduct monthly credit analysis and reporting on loan portfolios, including KPI reporting.
-Perform monthly analysis and reporting on loan provision movements and portfolio KPIs.
-Review and analyze monthly reconciliation between the Debtor Management System and General Ledger.
-Prepare monthly reports for regulatory bodies (NBFIRA).
-Assist with daily sales performance reporting (disbursements, settlements, by branch, agent, etc.).
-Support testing of system developments and recommend necessary system improvements.
-Handle ad hoc tasks within the Debtor Management System, such as loan restructuring and data corrections.
-Assist in resolving customer queries related to loan restructuring and other inquiries.
Reporting and Analysis:
-Assist management in understanding the global view of debit order credit risk.
-Monitor and report on portfolio trends to detect deterioration in portfolio quality.
-Prepare concentration and other necessary reports to communicate portfolio and third-party relationship risks to management.
-Continually analyze credit portfolios and report findings as required.
Skills and Competencies
-Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
-Analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
-Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
-Experience in business performance monitoring and financial analysis.
Academic Qualifications & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Mathematics and Finance (desirable).
- Training: Advanced Excel training.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of IT systems and business intelligence tools (e.g., Debtors Management Systems) is a plus.
