As part of our mission to ensure operational excellence, we seek a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the Mechanical Maintenance Department at Morupule A Power Station.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling maintenance operations to ensure maximum plant availability, reliability, and efficiency while adhering to safety, environmental, and cost management standards. The incumbent will develop maintenance policies, standards, and codes for compliance and oversee specialized engineering works within the power station.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all maintenance operations and activities at Morupule A Power Station.
- Coordinate the Maintenance Department, allocating roles and responsibilities while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Provide input into the development and implementation of Plant Life Reliability and Maintainability Plans.
- Analyze plant performance data to develop and enhance asset management strategies.
- Manage relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and minimizing unplanned outages.
- Propose and implement a Business Model for the Maintenance Department in alignment with the Corporate Strategy.
- Prepare and review tender documents, contracts, and functional specifications for plant upgrades and enhancements.
- Lead departmental initiatives, developing new methods, tools, and programs for quality assurance.
- Develop and implement cost-effective maintenance measures to optimize performance and minimize operational risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education:
- A Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Process Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Botswana Engineering Registration Board (ERB) at the Professional Level.
- Experience:
- A minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification experience, with at least three (3) years in a management capacity.
- Knowledge and experience in the electricity industry and power generation will be an added advantage.
- Experience in fossil-fired power generation is required.
- Experience in a maintenance environment is essential.
