Overview:
The Botswana Prison Service is looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent (Principal Data Protection Officer II). This role is essential for ensuring data compliance, safeguarding personal data, and managing the organization’s data protection framework.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, implement, and monitor data protection and privacy policies.
-Ensure compliance with data protection laws and organizational standards.
-Oversee the security and processing of sensitive personal data.
-Provide expert advice on data protection and compliance to management and staff.
-Conduct regular data protection audits and risk assessments.
-Coordinate training and awareness programs on data privacy within the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Degree in Law, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Data Protection and/or Privacy will be an added advantage.
- Experience:
- At least four (4) years of experience in handling personal data, data compliance, security of data, or data processing in a related field.
- Experience at Salary Scale D4 or equivalent is required.
