Purpose

Brights Hardware seeks a dependable and professional Code 10 Driver to ensure the accurate, punctual, and safe delivery of goods. This role requires engaging with customers, coordinating with staff across branches, overseeing loading and offloading processes, maintaining the delivery vehicle, and providing outstanding customer service to support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

-Deliver exceptional customer service during all interactions.

-Complete daily trip sheets, recording opening/closing kilometers, and departure/arrival times.

-Conduct daily pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness and report defects.

-Ensure truck assistants remain with the truck at all times.

-Plan and execute the most efficient delivery routes.

-Verify all outgoing stock has proper documentation before loading.

-Maintain a logbook of transferred documents and ensure it is signed upon stock receipt at branches.

-Ensure stock is delivered in excellent condition.

-Submit weekly evaluation reports to the Supervisor.

-Communicate delays and report to the Supervisor at the end of each day.

-Participate in stock takes and perform other delegated tasks.

Requirements

  • Education: Matric (or equivalent).
    • Candidates without Matric may be considered if they hold a valid license and have 3+ years of driving experience.
  • License: Valid Code 10 Driver’s License (Code 14 is an advantage).
  • Permit: PDP (Public Driving Permit for Goods and Passengers).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Effective planning, time management, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to handle pressure and monitor processes efficiently.
    • Proficiency in reading and high-level communication.
    • Understanding of vehicle loading procedures.
