Overview:
Botswana Power Corporation is looking for a Tool Room Attendant to join our team in Morupule. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the tool and equipment store, ensuring the security of tools, issuing equipment as per procedures, and keeping accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities:
Tool Room & Inventory Management:
-Maintain the tool room in a neat and orderly condition.
-Control access to the tool storeroom to ensure the security of tools and equipment.
-Maintain a register of issued and returned tools and equipment to ensure availability.
-Inspect tools and equipment for damage or defects and report issues to the supervisor.
-Transfer old or unused equipment to external storage while maintaining access control.
-Prepare requisition orders for consumable spares in line with inventory levels.
Equipment Maintenance & Compliance:
-Perform minor repairs on tools and appliances before issuing them.
-Work within compliance processes, systems, and procedures, reporting any shortcomings.
-Follow assigned schedules and procedures for tool management.
-Ensure tools and equipment meet safety and operational standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
-Keep accurate records of all tool transactions.
-File and retrieve documents from the established filing system.
-Interact courteously with staff to exchange information and fulfill requests.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- BGCSE (Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education) or equivalent.
- Valid Class B Driver’s License (Mandatory).
Experience:
- Direct entry (no prior experience required).
- Exposure to Inventory Management is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is desirable.
