Overview:

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd, a leading Soda Ash and Salt producer based in Sua Pan, is looking for a Heavy Plant Mechanic to join its engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Responsibilities:

-Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in heavy plant machinery.

-Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and component replacement, to enhance vehicle longevity.

-Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

-Repair or replace defective or worn-out parts in heavy equipment.

-Utilize vehicle diagnostic systems and tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues.

-Provide accurate repair estimates, including cost, time, and effort required.

-Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and job cards.

-Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.

Requirements:

• Education: National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Heavy Plant Mechanics.
• Experience: 4–6 years of proven experience as a heavy plant mechanic.
• Technical Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of heavy vehicles and machinery.
  • Proficiency in vehicle diagnostic systems and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to operate and handle various tools and heavy equipment safely.
