Overview:
Morupule Coal Mine is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Officer – Contracts to support contract administration by preparing, negotiating, and reviewing company contracts. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing tender processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and mitigating commercial risks.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare draft contracts and submit them to the Contracts Manager for quality assurance.
-Issue notifications of contract awards and regret letters to tender participants.
-Manage end-to-end tender processes, including advertising, bid submission, evaluation, and contract awards.
-Initiate, execute, and issue tenders for small works, recommending the most commercially and technically viable offers.
-Ensure all tenders comply with contract management procedures.
-Verify the scope of work/services is formatted correctly and aligns with company requirements.
-Ensure tender requisitions are authorized and that proposed tenderers are registered with Supply Chain Management.
-Complete commercial adjudication documents and incorporate technical assessments from end-users/customers.
-Compile final adjudication reports, including clarifications, and prepare recommendations for Tender Board review.
-Support citizen-owned companies by influencing procurement spending towards local enterprises.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in contract administration and contract management.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of procurement and tendering processes.
- Familiarity with contract law and commercial risk management.
- Ability to analyze contracts and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Experience working with Tender Committees and adjudication processes.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Understanding of SHE Management Systems, including ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015.
- Other Skills:
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in contract drafting and administration.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
