Overview

The North East District Council is inviting applications from proactive, assertive, and qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Principal Estate Officer I. This position is a critical leadership role within the Estates Management Division, responsible for ensuring efficient property administration and compliance with national legislation.


Purpose of the Role

To supervise, manage, and direct the Estates Management Division, ensuring effective operations and compliance with professional and statutory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

-Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Estate Management Division.

-Supervise and guide subordinates in line with established procedures.

-Oversee property valuation processes to ensure statutory compliance.

-Provide professional advice on estate management and property valuation to Council and stakeholders.

-Manage the allocation of staff housing and ensure proper documentation and compliance.

-Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Estate Management or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, including 2 years at the level of Principal Estate Officer II (D3) in government, or equivalent experience in the Private Sector or Parastatal.

Additional Requirement:

  • Must be registered with the Real Estate Institute of Botswana or Real Estate Advisory Council, and possess a valid practicing certificate at the time of application. (Attach proof of registration and certification.)

Benefits

  • Medical Aid Scheme: Optional contributory; Government pays 50%, employee pays 50%
  • Pension Scheme: Government contributes 15%, employee contributes 5%
