Overview
The Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Switchboard Operator, tenable at the Department of Labour and Social Security in Jwaneng. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing communications efficiently and professionally.
Purpose of the Role
To receive and transfer incoming calls to the appropriate offices, maintain call records, and ensure timely delivery of private telephone bills to officers.
Key Responsibilities
-Operate the switchboard to receive, place, and direct calls
-Take accurate messages and ensure immediate delivery to intended recipients
-Issue private telephone bills to individual officers
-Print and file monthly bills
-Book international and private calls for officers as required
-Maintain a call register and summarise private call usage
-Receive and direct corporate clients and visitors
Required Qualifications
- Cambridge O’ Level School Certificate (COSC) or
- Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE)
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience on the A2 salary scale
