A respected legal firm in Botswana, operating across Southern Africa and beyond, is seeking a skilled and driven Credit Controller and Debt Collection Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the financial health of a growing legal organization.
Role Summary:
The role involves proactive debt management, execution of credit control policies, and collection of outstanding fees, particularly company-related debts. You will ensure timely follow-ups on overdue accounts, generate accurate receivables reports, perform debtor aging analysis, and assess credit risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Liaison and Dispute Resolution
- Work closely with internal/external legal teams on disputes and non-payment cases
- Provide support and documentation for debt recovery and legal proceedings
Reporting and Administration
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection-related activities
- Prepare regular management reports on collection progress, aging analysis, and risk exposure
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in debt collection and credit control
- Strong background in managing accounts receivable and debtor aging reports
- Experience in liaising with legal teams is highly advantageous
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office (especially Excel) is essential
