Join Ker & Downey Botswana – We’re Hiring Rangers (4 Positions Available)

Ker & Downey Botswana is looking for four experienced and committed Rangers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring and logging activity in the conservancy area while also supporting general lodge, camp, and conservancy maintenance tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conserve and protect natural habitats and wildlife
  • Comply with environmental regulations and legislation
  • Support anti-poaching activities in collaboration with wildlife authorities
  • Plan and manage food and equipment usage to reduce waste
  • Store supplies safely to avoid contamination
  • Communicate stock requirements and coordinate with team members

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with groundskeeping and general maintenance
  • Operate and load the bulk truck
  • Support with luggage handling and guest transfers
  • Participate in fence and bush clearing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education
  • 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Valid Class B driver’s license
  • Basic firefighting certificate
  • Level 2 First Aid certification
  • Assistant guide license (knowledge of animals & dangerous game)
  • Rifle handling skills

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in using mowers, hand tools, and heavy equipment
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand, stoop, crouch, and lift over 45kgs
  • Comfortable using tracking and camera trap equipment
  • Honest, dependable, and safety-conscious
