Join the BOFWA Team – Finance and Administration Officer
The Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA) is looking for a competent and experienced Finance and Administration Officer to join our team. This key position supports the efficient financial management and smooth administrative operations of the organization, contributing directly to program success and long-term sustainability.
Position Overview:
The Finance and Administration Officer will manage budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, and general administration. The role involves collaborating with program teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with BOFWA policies, donor requirements, and Botswana’s financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor budget performance
- Manage financial transactions, reporting, and monthly reconciliations
- Oversee procurement and ensure compliance with policies and donor guidelines
- Maintain financial records and ensure timely audit preparation
- Support program teams with financial compliance and administrative needs
- Administer payroll, tax filings, and statutory compliance
- Manage office assets, inventories, and supplier contracts
- Provide administrative support for events, logistics, and internal operations
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or grants management
- AAT, CPA, or similar professional certification is an added advantage
- Experience working with NGOs, donor-funded projects, or non-profit organizations
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel, or equivalent accounting software
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Botswana tax laws, labor laws, and financial regulations
