Join Our Team – Junior Accountant Wanted

Akheel Jinabhai & Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting operations, support financial reporting, and ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Review payment requisitions and process transactions via online banking systems
  • Monitor creditor control and manage supplier payments in line with internal controls
  • Conduct supplier reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation for all payments
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations
  • Ensure trust control activities comply with legal and professional standards for handling client funds
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and other finance-related duties as required
  • Support statutory compliance and internal audit processes

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Registered with BICA (Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants)
  • Currently pursuing ACCA or BICA (ACA) certification
  • Proficient in accounting software such as SAGE and AJS
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a good understanding of financial controls
