Overview:

Botswana Power Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Artisan Assistant to join our team in Morupule. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical plant equipment in accordance with standard procedures, as well as manufacturing parts using basic hand tools.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs:

-Perform routine services on mechanical equipment following standard procedures to enhance plant availability and reliability.

-Conduct minor tests on mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

-Assist Mechanical Artisan on major repairs and servicing as required.

-Collect and analyze equipment performance data to support maintenance decisions.

-Identify and report faults or risks to improve reliability.

Operational Compliance & Housekeeping:

-Work within established compliance processes and safety procedures.

-Perform routine safety checks on equipment and workspace.

-Contribute to risk assessment development.

-Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and areas are tidy.

-Initiate and implement approved process improvements under supervision.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Trade Test B in Maintenance Fitting with BGCSE.
• Must qualify as a Competent Person within six (6) months of appointment.
• Valid Class B Driver’s License.

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in an industrial mechanical plant maintenance environment.
