Overview:

Chobe District Council is inviting applications from Chobe District residents only for the post of Refuse Collector (A3). This position plays a key role in maintaining public hygiene and cleanliness across the district through waste collection and proper disposal methods.


Salary & Benefits:

Salary Scale: A3 (P34,740.00 – P39,456.00) per annum

Leave: 20 working days per annum

Pension: Government contributes 15%, employee 5%

Medical Aid (Optional): Government contributes 80%, employee 20%


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Qualification: PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination)
  • Experience: Not required (Direct entry accepted)

Main Purpose of the Job:

To collect and dispose of refuse within the Chobe District Council area in line with public health and sanitation guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

-Collect refuse from residential areas, communal refuse pits, street bins, and bus stops

-Remove and dispose of dead animals

-Maintain refuse disposal sites (burning, burial, clearing, cutting of trees, etc.)

-Assist in destroying seized and condemned food (Health Inspector support)

-Wash refuse trucks regularly

-Dispose of refuse as per the Public Health Act

-Sort waste and guide vehicles to correct landfill zones

-Perform additional duties as assigned by management
